Crushin' on Ari

...again. Me and Ari go way back. I fell in love with him when a friend took me to watch one of his shows in SF early in 2003. I wasn't expecting much from it. In fact, I didn't really want to go. Then I heard him sing and saw him play his guitar, and it was all over.

The show was held at the Utah Saloon in downtown SF. It was an extremely small venue, more like a small bar, but it was nice and cozy. We sat upstairs and had an awesome view of the show. If I leaned over the rail, I could probably touch him. His songs really captivate me. I don't know what it is. I just know he must have been really hurt by someone, and therefore must have loved deeply as well. So it makes me wonder where his motivation comes from when he writes his lyrics. Anyways, after the show, I talked with him for a bit and actually took a few photos. He's hot. He made me swoon.

So, since that day, I have gone to 3 out of 4 of his concerts in SF, the last being a few days ago at Cafe Du Nord in SF. I really thought I was over the Ari hype, but once he sang, I fell in love all over again. Our friend, Kris, even said that he fell in love with him that night, too. LOL. Now, I'm playing his songs, which I know by heart by now, every single minute. I even went on his forum to check out some info about him. I know I'm crazy. I'm even his friend on myspace.com. Man, I'm loosing it. I wonder if the hubby is jealous. Ha!

He is really good. If you don't believe me, click my Ari playlist to the left to listen to some of his songs. Give it some time to load. I put 3 songs on there: Fond Farewell, Strangers Again, and Monsters. Monsters is one of my favorites.

If you haven't checked him out yet, go to Ari Hest. Listen to Anne Marie. He dedicated that song to me. Yeah, I wish. I am very happy to have found out that his song "Strangers Again" will be played on Days of Our Lives. Yo go Ari! That is awesome.

Oh, we also saw Marc Brussard sing at the concert. He is really good, too.

I hate cold weather. It's been cold for the past few days. Fortunately, it was warmer today. I'm tired. I haven't been able to keep up with any TV or my soaps. I had a big problem with my computer last week that just so happened to coincide with hosting problems on my website. For a minute, I thought they were connected. It was a huge nightmare for me.

First we tried to do system restores and system recoveries galore, and something would always fail. WTF? Mind you, my computer is only less than two years old. Then, I called HP and asked them to send me recovery disks. Why they don't just include these when you originally purchase the computer is beyond me. They suck. Well, even with that, it would crash spontaneously after installing new programs...yes, even after I shut down and re-started after each new program. It didn't just crash, it was unrecoverable from that point...so guess what...we had to start the whole recovery from the very start. It was not fun, my friend.

In the midst of dealing with my computer problems, I was speaking with my web hosting provider about the difficulty with pop-ups and trojans on my website. The F'ers (and I don't usually cuss) were initially telling me that it was my fault and that I just had to change some of my coding to stop hackers from obtaining my information...and this was only occurring on my website. Uh, no, I don't think so. The ignorant reps were obviously clueless as to the severity of the situation. It was a server problem from the start. In my last discussion with the Lead Manager, out of 20 of their servers, the virus only affected the server that I was hosted on. So, me and 2000 other customers, were the unlucky ones affected. Finally after a week and a half, my website is finally up and running virus-free. They assurred me that the hackers were currently being prosecuted and that this type of situation would never occur again. I feel wary about staying with them, but they are one of the top 3 web hosting providers and I've heard the other 2 have problems, too. I'm generally happy with them though. Their tech support is usually really helpful.

Okay, not that I didn't have enough to deal with, I was also in a car accident two weeks ago and I just found out last week that I have whiplash. Yippee. Not. And the person that hit me, did NOT have insurance. She was not even driving her own car, she was driving her uncle's car. She had 3 kids in the car with her and had no informaiton with her. I think she's a B. She gave me the correct phone number, but is now ditching me and my insurance's calls. My insurance company just called me today to give me an update. They ran a trace on the license plate of the car. Don't know if they got the info yet.

Went to Sac last weekend for Jenn and Ken's wedding. It was beautiful. I'll talk about it more later. Working on New Era's website, but haven't done as much as I want since all the computer problems. I think it looks nice so far. Also, planning Liza's baby shower with Arlene and Cheryl. I just printed the invites and will assembly them tonight. I better run...my korean short ribs are almost ready to be grilled. Yum.

We're trying to get the house ready for our visitor this saturday. Even with making numerous trips to the tri-ced and st. vincent de paul, we still have a lot of stuff. A part of me just wants to throw everything out. It has gotten way better than it has been in a long time though. The upstairs looks clean, contemporary, and modern, but the downstairs, specifically the garage needs some major tlc. Franny is currently working on it. He's been up since 4 this morning, which is exactly the time I went to sleep. I'm just really happy that we'll be doing the spackling (did i spell that right?)and re-touch painting tonight. There are numerous places where the wall has been damaged. For instance, Franny created the in-wall bookcase awhile back and we never covered up the big areas of the wall that were chipped. There are a bunch of chips all over the house, especially since we have dogs. When they were puppies, they would scratch the walls near the kitchen. We have lived in this house for 5 years now, and it's about time we gave it some love.

Speaking of love, Franny has changed the location of our Anniversary celebration. Instead of Beach Chalet, we're going to have brunch at Absinthe. I've never been there, but Franny has heard good things about it.

Franny is bothering me right now. He likes to say things to make me upset, and then he laughs about it. He says inaccurate stuff on purpose, to get a little rise out of me, even though he knows the only purpose of doing so, is getting me irritated. He thinks it's just so cute when I get mad. I don't think it's cute at all. It's to early in the morning for this. Oh, and for the past few minutes, he has repeatedly said "jo, i'm naked...jo, i'm naked, jo...i'm naked". Then he flexes his arm, smirks, and kisses his bicep, then smiles. That's my husband for ya.

Don't have time to blog really. I need to sleep a little more and then get up to have lunch and go shopping with Arlene in Santana Row. We're also visiting our little niece who just popped out yesterday. I heard she looks mestiza with more of the Lim traits. Woo-hoo! Am I biased or something?

Ordered my photos from Walmart. Lee-ann Womack was there, and there were a bunch of people dressed up as different charecters, like the wonderbread man, fairies, etc., who were giving out free candy and stuff. It was fricking weird for a walmart, and a ghetto walmart at that in San Leandro. I have never seen so many white people over there in my life.

The photos turned out great and now we actually have organized albums to share with our visitors when we have parties. It took awhile for me to put them in albums, but I'm happy the albums all match...even though the quality of the albums are crappy. They are black and dark brown leather albums that look really nice, but sometimes the binding falls out. Out of 14 albums, 2 have flopped. I am going to return those two at Ross. I'm really pleased with how the bookcase looks. We worked on it last night. Before, it looked like a library bookcase, now it looks more like a showcase of different things...books, albums, frames, display boxes. I like how it looks less cluttered now.

While I was putting photos in albums, I looked at all the dog photos. I almost cried while I was going through gilbey and belle's photos of when we first got them. They looked so tiny and adorable! They grew up so fast. How weird. I never thought I could love them as much as I do.

Ken came over yesterday to drop off Jenn's letter. She did a really good job on it. Then I looked at my email and there were about 10 emails going back and forth between Ken, Jenn, and Franny. It made me crack up so much. It was about wiggling. Don't ask. LMAO. AC is still writing his letter, which he will giving to me by tomorrow. Alvin already turned in letter, although, I have no idea what he wrote.

Tonight and tomorrow will be extremely busy, as it is crunch time to get the house ready. Franny and I promised each other that we would get everything done before saturday, so that we can enjoy our anniversary together without any arguments.

Been so busy, I cancelled all appointments this week. I'm missing them badly. My back is aching for a major adjustment.

Mom and Dad had a garage sale this weekend that was completely uneventful. In fact, hardly anyone showed up. It was an extremely tiresome experience. Arlene and I spent a good portion of saturday morning making signs and having people laugh at us at Lowes. D & M have a lot of useless things that should be thrown away instead of being sold at a garage sale. By the end of the day, all I wanted was a nice long shower. On a better note, at least I got to spend some time with Brady, Arlene, and Noel...and I found some old photos of my high school days. I even found a big honking card that Francis had written to me that was ultra super sweet. I can probably say it's one of my favorites.

Today, I went to Jenn's bridal brunch, which really wasn't a brunch at all. It started at about noon and it was mainly finger foods. The food was really good though. And the presentation was beautiful. Jess is good at that. We also made the event into a "pleasure party" by hiring a consultant. She talked a whole lot, but was hilarious. The products were actually appealing! Me and Asuncion were cracking up so much. I didn't think I would want to get anything, but I got a "few" things, and so far Franny likes all of them. LOL. We even bought Jenn some stuff. Hee-hee. I can't believe her wedding is two weeks away. And I can't believe she's making us dance as we enter the reception. Oh my.

Our 5 year anniversary is this saturday!!! OMG. Franny is making reservations at Beach Chalet. I've never been there, but he said he heard a few good things about it. Finally we will be able to spend some quality time together. Yay! It has just been so busy lately. I'm trying to get the house ready for our homestudy, which just so happens to be on our anniverary. It's going to be so busy, because we will try to stop by Jess's bday dinner in the city. I just found out she's preggy, too. She just found out on tuesday. What a beautiful bday gift!

Desperate Housewives is premiering tonight. It looks good. Okay, I've been washing clothes ever since I got home, so I better start folding them.
