My weekend was fairly eventful. Saturday we went to San Francisco to our Aunt's house in the Richmond District. She's the Counsel General/Philippines Ambassador. It was so funny how people treat her like a celebrity. She told us that she can't even go to the mall without some Filipino wanting to take a picture with her. She also has tons of servants that cook and clean for her, their house is HUGE. It's 3 stories and has 14 bedrooms...14 big bedrooms. Yup. No joke. It's like a miniature mansion. The best part of the house is the view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is breath-taking. You have a nice view of the GGB in 60% of the rooms. Mom, dad, Mike, and Neisha went with us. It was a a relaxing break from all the stuff I've been doing.
Sunday we went to Tom's Thank You lunch at their house. We got to see Eliza. She's growing so fast. We also saw Joey, Verna's brother, there. Apparently, he knows Tom from one of his previous jobs. He's studying bio now at CSUH. I gave him a few pointers about the biotech industry. Funny how he has a computer background and he's trying to get into bio, and I'm totally trying to get out of it. I've been trying, but somehow I always manage to get suckered back in.
Ron has been pressuring me to complete his website. At first I said I don't got time! Hello? How many things do I have under my plate right now. A whole ****load. Okay, so I didn't say that. But I was thinking it. Here's a little background on his whole website dilemma. Ron is a Graphic Artist, who mainly works with Maya 3D. He asked me to design his website a year ago, but he didn't have much graphics at that point, so I didn't. I told him that once he gave me his content, I would design something for him. In the interim, I created something decent and quick for him to just put up. After about a year, still nothing new. All of sudden, around 4 days ago, he comes to me and tells me that he's desperate for his website to be completed because prospective clients have been asking him about his work. So, I was just a tiny bit irred that he wanted me to complete it so quickly when he lagged for over a year.
And, it just so happens that I have another website to complete. It's still in the early stages and my client will be looking at version 1.0 in two weeks. So I decided that the easiest thing to do was to complete Ron's website first...because he's one of my closest friends, his work is amazing, and last but not least, I wanted to get it out of the way so I can work on other things. So, I started it. Well, I spent a lot of time on it in the past few days, but it's still not ready. Mainly because he doesn't know what to put on his "links" page, or whatever page that links page will end up being. That extra page can be a guestbook, feedback form, Maya Forum, or even a product list with a shopping cart. He just has to pick something. The site also still needs a logo and some graphics on the contact page.
Even though it is not ready, he put it up on his site without telling me first. wtf? O'well. I guess what I have will do for now. His favorite part is the exit. Here it is if anyone's interested: Basorya. You will need flash and sound to view this site. Don't forget to turn off the music on this page before you head over there.
I'm sleepy already. I'm still so busy. I have to make a lot of call-backs, organize the bills, finish up Jenn/Ken's Wedding CDs, and I have tons of appointments in the next three days. I also have to re-design the BM letter and then once it's approved, go to the Kinkos and make 100 copies. I think that's how much I need. Oh, and I also need to request a copy of our marriage license. I wonder how long it will take to get it once I request it. I heard it takes about 4 weeks.
It's also Mom (Franny's mom) and Franny's birthdays on Thursday. Cheryl's birthday, too. On Friday and Saturday I will be out of town. Saturday evening we have an early dinner for Franny's birthday, and then on Sunday we're celebrating Franny's birthday with the Mendoza clan.
